Welcome to Hither and Tether, our fifth Wordbotherers magazine.
We are group of local authors based in Pickering, North Yorkshire, an ancient market town along with a thirteenth century castle. The stories and poems included herein were inspired by the architecture, people and myths of the local area and Yorkshire in general.
The Wordbotherers.
We are five, passionate writers who enjoy the discipline of writing almost as much as the pleasure we get from sharing our work. Most of the group have been members of community writing groups for many years. We created the ‘wordbotherers’ just over six months ago to facilitate the presentation and sharing of a considerable catalogue of previous writing.
A good portion of this previous catalogue has now been published in the four wordbotherer magazines, Inception volumes 1-4. However, the stories from Yorkshire we thought might merit their own, dedicated magazine.
Hither and Tether (based on one of P.J.’s poems) is a collection of stories and poems that take place in our wonderful county. The group is indebted to P.J. and Lillian who offered their deep lore of Yorkshire that guided us in creating this book.
Note, Simon who is our IT and editing guy has no stories in this magazine. He is kept busy by ‘life’ and has nothing relevant in his back catalogue!
