Old Age.
Old age is a gift that just keeps on giving
You move along slowly
but it’s not really living
It gives you aches and pains
that you never thought you’d have
You also start to change
and become just like your Mum or Dad
Your children think your senile
when you talk about the past
But you wear a secret smile
‘cos you know their looks won’t last
You love to have the grandkids
But you’re glad when they go home
It’s lovely and it’s peaceful
Sometimes it nice to be alone
You never thought you’d get this old
Your life has passed within a blink
And it’s surely a misfortune
when you have so much time to think
Of all the things you should have done
When you were young and fit
But now you are regarded as a grumpy, sad, old git
Just take a look around
It’s really not so bad
Just get up off your arse
Life’s not so terribly sad
Do the things you want to do
Pretend you’re young and fit
And whatever your kids say to you
You shouldn’t give a shit.
