Inception 3

Welcome to volume three of Inception – The Wordbotherers  magazine.

Every Thursday our group meets to discuss our stories and poems over a glass of wine in the Yorkshire town of Pickering.  We publish our off-beat humour and quirky stories to provide a momentary distraction from the rigours of daily life. We share our skills, support one another and attempt to bridge the gap between frustrated scribbler and recognised muse.

We chose the name ‘Wordbotherers’ because the bothering of words perfectly sums up our passionate approach to our art, with a deftness that might be called ‘a work in progress’. We are hardly literary geniuses, but every now and then might produce something worthy of being pinned to the fridge.

In many English towns and villages there are annual art festivals where local painters can hang their works for display and very occasional sale. At Wordbotherers we have our website – wordbotherers.com – which aims to achieve a similar purpose. Here we can ‘display’ the last twenty creations for easy viewing, with our individual pages displaying all of our works. These magazines offer a mixture of our most recent works; available as downloadable pdf files or paperback versions from amazon.

Whilst we all like to dabble, without any doubt the poet of the group is P.J. This month we are proud to announce that P.J. has published his first collection of poetry  ‘Poems from the Darkside‘ This offers a poignant journey through grief and despair as P.J. was thrust into deep melancholy by the sudden loss of his wife. A deep and powerfully moving collection that explores grief, anger and frustration at the unfair loneliness of unexpected loss. Well done P.J. – we know this journey has been difficult and hope your work offers support to others facing difficult times. Poems from the Darkside is available from Amazon – please see P.J.’s page on the wordbotherers website for details. P.J. is currently working on his second book, The Thistle and the Rose.

We hope you enjoy our third volume of Inception and find our musings pleasantly distracting.

Please contact us at wordbotherers@gmail.com to provide feedback or if you are interested in any of our work for ongoing creativity.

Happy reading.
