Sweet Talk

Tastebuds are tingling with flavours on tongue
And mouth-watering nectar swills round.
Salivating juices already begun
As melliferous ambrosials are found.

Caramels, butterscotch, Turkish Delights,
Fondants and icing on cakes,
A gratifying pleasure, a nectariferous of measure,
A passion one never need fake.

Grand summer puddings, crumbles and pies,
Laden with treacle and sugar.
A lick of the lips, a sigh…of…all…sighs,
Toffee and fudge…Oh…the shudder!

Honey and syrup collectively cloying,
Trifles, they leave one so weak,
Temptingly fruity and oh…so annoying,
When left at a critical peak…

…Of crusty meringues giving delectable pangs
And lollipops to get lips around.
Sundaes and mousses devouring juices,
The thrill when a truffle is found.

Deliciously craving, a treat one is saving,
To ensure a good healthy measure,
For sugar and spice and all things nice
Are such a satisfying pleasure.
